For those who can hear: Mind, Body, and Soul

Self-knowledge is elusive. Just when you think you know who you are, something surprises you! A strong emotional reaction seems to come from nowhere. A forgotten part of yourself pops up in a dream. You find yourself thinking exactly the opposite of the way you used to think about some subject.

The sheer complexity of the human soul makes genuine self-knowledge a real accomplishment! We are a jumble of attitudes, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors. Caught up in the constant demands of life, it’s hard to get the big picture of who we really are.

The Weight of it All: A "Not So Easy" Weightloss journey of Kenny Jones

Everyone has skeletons in their closets and some of those skeletons started as entire chickens, which we ate until there was nothing left, but skeletons. Each time I went through something traumatic I’d eat as if it was the answers I needed. The more that happened to me the bigger I got, and I had no idea how serious things would get. If my weight, at my heaviest was any indicator of my life struggles, you’d probably believe that I was going to die at any minute…because I was.

What Solange Gets Right—And Wrong—About Emotions

We have been conditioned to numb ourselves. We take a pill to rid ourselves of aches and pains — ignoring the signals from our body that something is wrong. We “put one in the air” a la Solange, or cover our emotions with a variety of surface-level remedies and deny ourselves the gift of our natural emotional guidance system.

Focus on Your Focus

carmirror.jpg

“It’s better to do one or two things in excellence,
than seven or eight things average. Focus on your focus.”
- Dr. Eddie M. Connor, Jr.

Your level of focus has everything to do, with stagnation or progression in life.
Don’t take detours to destruction, via distractions. Vision gives you clear direction,
to avoid detours and distractions altogether…stay focused! When you’re focused,
you can still find clarity, when things are cloudy.
This is your time to focus, plan, and execute your vision to perfection. Target the
goal and execute the plan. It’s better to do one or two things in excellence, than
seven or eight things average. Focus on your focus. If you only focus on the obstacle,
then you will never see the opportunity. Great opportunities are in store for
you, if you work while you wait! It’s all about perception. You can either see challenges,
as impossible or “I’m possible.” Hard work and tenacity, will make your
dream a reality.
Place the right people around you, who understand your drive and energy. They
won’t discourage you from the goal, they will encourage you to achieve the goal.
Focus on how God has blessed you, not the people that stress you. Focus on Him,
not them. Make focus your priority, not people.
There’s too much ahead, to focus on what you left behind. You’re too blessed, to
focus on what you don’t have…look at what you do have and use it! Look forward
and move forward. Your feet will propel you, in the direction where your eyes are
focused. You can’t go through life looking and walking backward, or you’ll crash
into your past. If they only knew who you were becoming, they wouldn’t focus on
what you used to be. Focus forward, what’s past is past…your future is promising.
In order to look forward, stop looking around and behind you. God’s got your
back, so goodness and mercy are always following you. Raise your faith and your
level of focus. Commit to the plan, develop action steps, and work to bring your
vision to fruition. If your mind and will is committed to it, you can’t lose. Remind
yourself that the best and blessed is yet to come.
If you keep focusing on what you don’t want, you’ll keep getting what you don’t
want. Change what you’re focusing on. In order to attain victory and cross the finish
line of our vision; it takes focus, consistency, determination, and tenacity, to
walk in your destiny. Manage your emotions, fine-tune your focus, and execute
with purpose. Go for it!

Stay Focused,

The Message Of The Seasons

Everyday of our lives we receive information of the seen and the unseen. Those who pay attention receive the reward of a warm summer day, a colorful autumn afternoon, a cold winters night, an exciting spring morning! The seasons acknowledge and remind us of a knowledge that is thousands of years old.....that time is not linear...but cyclic...it moves in repeated cycles! The seasons represent 4 aspects of time which is created by the earths rotation around the sun. Our ancestors knew that these 4 aspects of time carry a message and tell a story! The cycle that we are now in started December 21st...the date of the winter solstice, the first day of winter and the day of the longest night. There will be more and more light from now on. Winter is the time to get plenty of rest, good nutrition, relaxation, and sleep. The ancient Chinese say that in winter people should retire early at night and rise late in the morning....and wait for the rising sun. Winter is the coldest and darkest of seasons. It is time when living creatures go within. You must go within, you must stay warm, and contemplate on the meaning of life! It speaks so loud!

Much of nature is hiding in her roots during winter, gathering the energy to be reborn in the spring. It is wise that humans listen and observe nature and do the same. Nature is hiding in her roots during winter, gathering the energy to be reborn in the spring. This gathering of energy is important to us as well, brewing herbal roots and drinking lots of tea will warm the body and soothe the nerves. Soups are wonderful during the colder weather. Ginseng root is a fine general tonic and rejuvenate, but burdock, comfrey, ginger, licorice, and sarsaparilla roots are also traditional energizers. Vitally important to your health in winter, as in all seasons, is the balancing of the intake and output of your energy in the form of food, feelings, and work. You need proper rest and sleep, relaxation and play, to balance the activity, stress, and work in your life! Creating and maintaining cleanliness within and without is also important to stay healthy! The coming of each new season brings stress and change, illness can easily overtake you then. But illness itself gives you the opportunity to re-evaluate your life......The key is to be aware , and consciously change with the season. Winter is a important time to feel what your inner changes are and respect the messages. So again, to stay in-balance with winter, stay warm, stay quiet, sleep well, look within....Avoid being over active, late nights and parties, lack of rest and sleep, and correct negative thought patterns...Think about what you think about!  Mind, Body, and Soul!
